Hi guys, I'm still waiting for my girl to come into season. She came in to season early April , so 6 months would be early October, her "bits" have softened and opened a little ( slightly graffic sorry lol) not as they would be when not in season, but no spotting as of yet I do use a white tissue to check her. Could this be a silent season? Any advice would be great.

How regular are her seasons usually, and how frequent?

when I was waiting for my last bitch to come in so I could mate her she had one early April like you and then my normally regular 6 month girl waited until December meaning the mating was due Xmas week. Nightmare to organise because of family obligations on both sides and couldn't get blood tests done because of holidays. Fingers crossed your girl doesn't do that to you

Thanks for replies, she has so far gone 6 months 5 months 6 months  give or take a few days, so generally always around the 6 month mark. I'm proberbly just on tender hooks because we want to mate her this season so I'm keeping a close eye on her!
Lol yes you can almost guarantee she will keep me waiting till Christmas just to be awkward!

I tended to find if I wanted to do a mating they were late just to mess up the plans, changes in home circumstances can delay things.

Just gone through something similar myself, I thought my girl would come into season in July, she waited and didn't come into season till September. She was ready over the weekend of my Birthday which was a large number special one, and I had two family events arranged.
We had hoped that the puppies would be in their new homes before Christmas, but now we will have a litter over the Christmas period.
I think Christmas dinner will have to be staggered this year, and visits we usually make will have to be cancelled. Also my first grandchild is due to put in an appearance in early January.
I think they call it sods law, I do not breed very often and my bitch is 4 years old now and has long periods between seasons anyway.
I could not delay as I felt she would be too old to risk a first litter if we waited till her next season.
Nature just takes its own course and sometimes we just have to go with the flow, we can make as many plans as we like, but in the end we invariably have to change them.
I never expected to be charging up and down motorways on my birthday, and finished up on my knees for a 25 minute tie. Who said dog breeding was easy !!

Yes this is defiantly a challenge! This will be my first litter so I think I'm just on tender hooks! At least if she doesn't come in very soon we won't have a litter around Christmas/ new year. I'll just wait and see what happens. Fingers crossed it will be soon. Thanks for all the replies always a help.

Two years on the trot I had a litter over the Christmas period. It suited me as it was a good excuse not to a) have anyone over so I got out of the extra work, and b) not to go out anywhere else.  I just don't 'do' Christmas!

Enter a very important show, promise to car share with a friend and her rampant stud dog and shell out loads of entry money....she will definitely come into season....works for me every time :-(

Haha tooolz that did make me chuckle! That would defiantly make her come in! I was hoping to have a litter over Christmas to solve the where are we gonna go for Christmas this year debate! But sadly no ill be going through that now again this year.

Sorry, a bit off topic, but we have decided after years of me being the chief cook and general slave over Christmas, that we will be going out for Christmas dinner. There will only be five of us as my helper (daughter) not coming this year. Costs a fortune, but I think it will work out cheaper in the long run as I always over cater. Still going to buy a turkey crown so we can have those all important turkey sandwiches!
