Hi all,
Ive been looking into doing a nutrition course for dogs (cats as a sideline, but dogs more importantly) ive spoken to david from Whichdogfood, who could only give me a college in Canada. Has anyone done one (preferably not run buy mars, nestle crown pet foods). If so could i have details, possibly links.
Many Thanks

Try the rawfeeding uk group on fb they may know someone who is not sponsered by mars etc
or chris day holistic vet

I don't know where you are based, but there is a good vet (Nick something, Thompson perhaps), who does an excellent day's seminar. He is based in Bath I believe, but travels. He is a strong proponent of raw feeding, but he gets to that point by an interesting analysis.
I'm v biased though as I'm a keen raw feeder too! :-)
Could that be Nick Burden from Chippenham?

I think it is nick thompson there could be two
Thanks everyone. I have dabbled in raw in the past but with moving around ive gone back onto complete. Although picky completes. Puppy owners are not always well bar one keen on raw feeding but I love watching my pups thrive on meat. Im going ti get a few books, give a dog a bone, grow your pups on bones etc. Then ill have a look at some of the seminars. I want a balanced view of the industry not to ram either feeding method down peoples throats. But one thing ive come to question protein levels. Heard a few people say my breed cant have such high protein levels etc and large breed pups. Any truth to this. Especially shar pei?

That a read of Ann Ridyards the dogs dinner as well and look at her raw feeding website. Loads of knowledgable info from many years of rearing

with regard to pretein levels from what I understand with raw the whole thing is different Sorry not good enough to explain why but I know dogs that are supposed to be on low protein commercial food maybe for illness do fantasically on raw something to do with teh way the body process raw protein to commercial. I am sure I havnt explained that well. It may be usefull to join that website just to ask those type of questions. I understand the puppy pwners thing but I also no people who get round that too in different ways
