Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / Marking update and one possible cause

Having spent some time discussing this with my pup's breeder and friend - some of the possible marking incidents may be down to my older dog suffering from some spay incontinence.  This is not something that occurs all the time - just occasional accidents when she has been out excercising, drank quite a lot and fallen into  a deep sleep.   I have had to wash her bedding because there were signs that she had had an accident a week or so ago - this might be why the youngster is targeting places where my older dog sleeps - last night after there had been a few fireworks Meg lay down by the sofa near me.  So did Eddy - we all dozed but obviously Eddy must have touched Meg and she leapt up in anger - to tell him off - his touch had made her jump - there must have been a slight leak on her part which Eddy started sniffing.  I saw it and gave him a push and said leave it - too late he sprinkled over!!

My question is this time - is there anything I can do about Meg's problem - I have heard there is something dog's can take - but seeing that this is not regular it may be too early yet?

It won't stop Eddy's marking problem though - 3 times today.  The last time was when I had given them both something to chew but pup had to take Meg's, chewed it for a while then cocked his leg on it!   He has spent the last couple of hours in his crate - so got to give him some play time now before he goes back in again for bed.
