Took my bitch for a premate test on day 10 of her season and was told that she had 'just' ovulated and to mate the following two days. was somewhat confused as to how could say 'just' Anyway took her to the stud dog and although the bitch stood the dog was not interested.  Took her back on day 13 and when examined by the lady who does the stud work she told us our bitch had a stricture and the dog needed to go to one side (very experienced stud lady).  The dog mated but we did not get a tie as such as the bulb of the dogs penis wouldn't get past the stricture.  Took her again on day 15 as still standing and this time she felt she was more ready, again good mating but no tie and finally again on day 17 - still standing and yet another good mating but no tie again.  the dog was held in place on all three matings for 5-10 mins.  Our bitch is still bleeding (day20) So question is has anyone else experienced a stricture and did they get a successful pregnancy from the matings
By the way - when questioned if the stricture would cause problems with the birth was told that it shouldn't

I had someone visit me to mate their bitch, and my male had problems.  I suggested the bitch could possibly have a stricture (but I didn't charge.)

The owner left and waited for the next season, taking her elsewhere to be mated.  Her bitch was eventually mated but was unable to give birth, and needed an emergency section.  Years ago I had a bitch with a stricture and I had her spayed, as I didn't want this bred into my lines.
