Topic Dog Boards / Health / Boxer's nose
- By bez [gb] Date 01.10.13 15:18 UTC
Afternoon all,

Our 2 year old Boxer has recently developed a very dry and 'flakey' nose. It has become very rough, almost broken like and had gone a lighter colour. It resembles the nose of an much older dog.

Apart from this he is very healthy, very very very very active, and eats well etc.

Is this a job for the vet or does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you

Very common.
I say...where most other dogs have a fruit gum texture, Boxers have a fruit pastille one.
Joy Malcolm (Skelder Boxers) keeps a little tub of Vaseline in her pocket and dabs a bit on their noses often.
For very crusty, broken ones ......Cornucrescene can repair.

Vaseline here too :) When I saw the title my long departed Boxer's nose popped into my head. just looked at Cornucrescene is that a sort of red jelly and used to come in a tin? If so my long departed horse had an angleberry on his cheek and that fixed it after years
