Topic Dog Boards / General / RSPCA insurance rant!!!!1
- By diddles [gb] Date 12.09.13 16:41 UTC
Just had a txt to say that the RSPCA are pulling out of pet insurance market, and they are offering a transfer of policy to More Than. As i have a dog with a continuous claim i was obviously worried that they would not honor the claims. I have just been told that they will honor all continuous claims transferred to them.......Now the rant. The cost has gone from £23.86 per month to £52.06 a month, there can be no reduction in policy IE; rspca was 6000 per condition per year, and more than do 2 different policies. 1 which is 4000 per year and 8000 per year. However if you are already an rspca customer you have to have the policy they have arranged for you.

This is disgusting and daylight robbery. I am gobsmacked, they have you over a barrel because if you don't pay this amount you won't get cover elsewhere. Has anybody else had this problem?
or know where I can get good advice from.

There was a lady who successfully got Halifax to back down over something solar to this. Was it Robbiesmum or something like that who has Robbie the Westie ?

The Halifax lady is HAMISH75, so the OP could do a search for her posts, or send her a PM.

I think people have to remember that Insurance is not offered as a service like National Insurance, it is offered and run to make a profit for the companies that offer it.

This means they have to get more money in than they pay out, simples.

They will pull out if it becomes unprofitable.

God protect us from any move to make it compulsory.

This is interesting as if the policy stated 'lifelong' then there seems to be a reasonable chance this will be the same as the Halifax withdrawal

Thanks LJS, will look into it because he has got the gold for life cover with rspca.

have also written to RSPCA explaining my concerns that the policy has more than doubled and we are in a no win situation.

Just to mention, I feel the same about the RSPCA as I do about the Kennel Club, utter rubbish, only after your money.
