I want to get my girl hip scored and am in Carmarthenshire. My current vet offers it and my breeder recommends to find a vet who is experienced in it to make sure she isn't positioned slightly off which I have read on the bva website that that can effect the results.

I'm going to ask at ring craft who people go to but I'm not going next week as I'll be away. I've got a while yet as she is due in season around Nov/Dec time and have been told best to do it around half way between seasons.

So thought I'd ask on here if anyone can recommend a vet in south west wales. I don't mind traveling.

We use Arrowfield vets in Kington Herefordshire and travel from Bristol.

The vet is experienced and will have a good idea of the likely score.  It's done under sedation and costs at least £100 less than in Bristol..

Thank you barbara, I'll have a look into them, she is due in nov/Jan time (just counted it out) so will prob have her done around April.

Got no plans to breed but as we're doing flyball now I just want to know for my own peace of mind, I'm a worrier. So got no rush so plenary of time to get it all planned.

Think my vets said total cost was about £240-£220

I paid £150 for Peni in June, there for hips.

So a fair bit cheaper, my vets not the cheapest.

My won vet would be dearer than yours, was quoted over £300 locally, but that is with general anaesthetic, they won't do under sedation.

We also have used Arrowfield Vets  near Hereford, we're further West than you in Pembs but had good results and all done with sedation.  Would also consider Marilyn in Southampton.
