Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Ringcraft Classes South Wales or Forest of Dean areas ?
- By Conker [gb] Date 05.03.13 22:01 UTC
I am thinking of dipping my toes into the world of showing when we get  our new pup.
Can anyone recommend a Ringcraft class in the Newport or Forest Of Dean / Monmouth type areas or anywhere within a 30 to 40 min drive of the Severn Bridge on the Welsh side.

Thanks in advance.

can help that far over im afraid only know carmarthenshire and llanelli way, but if no one can recomend one might be worth looking online for a local open show and asking the sectairy if they can recomend one.

Thanks for the reply, I have managed to find only one local.
But I work shifts a few nights a week and it falls on one of those nights which is a pain.
There must be more in a 30 or 40 min drive I am sure.
I just hope one will fit into my shift pattern.

hi thats a shame its on 7.30pm every other week there is another one but in caerphilly but all pretty much same day same time :-(

There is one in Langstone which I believe is Wednesday :-( I live in Chepstow so 30 or 40 min drive can get me a fair way. Hence hoping Forest of Dean area may also have something.
It is pretty frustrating shift work is such a bind.

I'm in the F of D and ringcraft classes are few and far between. There are ringcraft classes at Drybrook Memorial Hall on a Wednesday night I think but we go to classes  at Sellack Village Hall, outside Ross on Wye (Tuesday evenings) which would be too far for you I guess (there is a lady from Wales who comes though)

Thanks again for the reply the problem is seeming to be the nights they are on conflicting with my dam shift work :-( I could actually do Ross On Wye in about 45 mins.
I have never shown before and I was hoping for guidance and I also thought it will be very helpful with puppy socialisation getting used to others touching him and other dogs.
I have got puppy classes sorted and there seems to be a training club in the forest that I will contact as well . It is just the ringcraft element that is proving a problem.
