Hi, out of interest do you let all your pups go on the same day or do you stagger it over a few days/week, barring the one/ones being kept for yourselves or held for holidays etc?

I have usually found people want to collect on different days. I have never had more than 2 go on the same day as peoples circumstances mean different days suit them better.

I always stagger them over 5-7 days, much easier on my mums then

I've never allowed more than one pup to go on the same day.  I prefer to stagger it so mum is less upset.  People don't seem to realise that it's a biggie for mum.

I am usually keeping a pup so mum is not left without any pups and to be honest I have found that by 5 weeks mum is usually glad of the peace and quiet when they start going

Usually over several days, but if more than one going on the same day I try to give times so I can discuss properly things like the contract, feeding, etc. I hate to feel rushed, I tend to forget things then. I still have the last 2 from my latest litter here. One is going on Friday and the last is going the following week sometime when I take her and have a few days holiday with her owner (a previous puppy owner ;-) )

Perhaps it depends a lot on breed.  When my pups are ready to go around 12 weeks, it is perfectly normal for mum to give them a comfort suckle to see them on their way.

My SWD's usually go on the same day and by the time they go my girls are usually waving them goodbye.

I once had three pups go the same day and swore never again.

The people did not come in the order they were supposed to, it meant I had two sets overlapping, it was chaotic trying to get all the paperwork (Insurance etc) set up.

Now I won't let more than two go in the same day, but prefer they go spread over two weeks or so.

Especially more difficult during the short days, we want the pups to get home in daylight hours, so the new owners need to be with us early, which inturn means only one per day.

I don't think I've ever had more than 3 go in one day and those have been staggered at a minimum of 2 hourly intervals. I try to arrange collection at a weekend for the people who have the furthest to travel, when the roads are likely to be a bit quieter, with the ones who live closer coming thoughout the week.

Maximum of 2 per day spread over a few days. 1 morning and 1 afternoon, the people furthest away get offered the morning slots first so that they get home with plenty of time to settle pup in before bed. Any smaller pups would get offered the last dates. I will be left with 2 by the end of this week, the one staying and one that is being collected in a few weeks.
My first went yesterday :-( emotional day.

I only let one pup go per day and have at least 3 days betwee each pup going. I don't want Mum to suddenly be 'without' nor do I want to be suddenly 'without' (I've put a lot of work into them and enjoy having them) plus I do individual work with them in the days/nights before they leave, I couldn't do this without staggering them.

I've only bred twice (13 years apart) but, for me, in the ideal world I think it would be nice if they could go over one weekend. Both of my girls being very 'worky' they were more than happy to see pups go and I find it less upsetting if they can go to their new homes without lots of delay in between otherwise I get very sad sitting looking at them and thinking how much I'll miss them. In reality, it ends up being whatever is convenient for both the new owners and myself between us. I will already have gone through contracts, insurance, feeding, training etc on previous visits as when they come to pick their pup up in all likelihood all they will want to do to get going with their new babe and they'll be too excited to want to hang around going through things (or trying to absorb things) we could have discussed previously. I kept a pup from the first litter (he's now 15) and I intended to do so from the second one but there wasn't one in there for me.
