That a dog in the show ring had gone through an operation which altered the conformation of the dog and the KC haven't been advised.
Basically I strongly suspect a dog in the ring has been operated on. If it has even though its not acceptable to be showing it but that's not my gripe here, it's that the owner is planning to breed from the animal and that makes me very annoyed.
There is no point challenging or asking owner as they will just lie.
So what would you do? If reported to the KC do they do all the leg work and investigation or is that left to the reporting person to gather evidence and prove its taken place?
If its proved no operation then I put my hands up but I trust my instinct and I can't bare the thought of an animal who's been operated on with a condition which is said to be hereditary being bred from. The KC won't allow any dog to be shown if permission is sought with this operation..
Your thoughts and ideas please

Just give the KC the evidence and let them take it up. If you can provide enough information to back your gut feeling up they will get to the bottom of it I would have thought.

I don't have any physical evidence which is why I've asked the question, do they do the ground work because I'm not going to be able to get that.
I will give the KC a call tomorrow to find out more details if no one knows the answer..
This has been playing on my mind for a while and festering but no point in reporting if KC don't/won't do anything

TBH I don't see that the KC can do anything if there is no proof. If you have noticed something perhaps there is a before and after photos otherwise you can't really do anything.

Hmm that was my worry and yet again the KC will allow for an issue to perpetuate... Does anyone have details on the top winning Akita who was reported and stripped of its awards, how did that come about?

Well it would help if the vets reported it to the KC as they and we have agreed they can.
What can the KC be expected to do with no evidence. I am sure all sorts of spurious allegations get made.

I doubt the KC will do anything.

I doubt the KC will do anything.I can't see how the KC can do anything - with no evidence they would lay themselves open to a court case - lets face it they must get 100s of complaints from people with an axe to grind how are they supposed to tell one complaint from another when there is no evidence. That is why you have to put down a refundable deposit as a complainant to deter people for making time wasting complaints - it is true no matter how strong the suspicion may be without foundation it is just a feeling and to follow up everyone's feelings would leave no time for anything else and would cost a fortune.

That's the end of that then, bar the person admitting it or them actually getting a test done and this being flagged up(they won't as they know it will appear on cert otherwise) then I have nothing as I'm not going to get info from beta due to DPA

Well as we do not know what you suspect or how obvious it is hard to say but if you can see something from the ring side then it is possible a judge will notice and report it, their report may be acted upon but only if a vet agrees they did the work or a scar is visible will it come to the conclusion that you want and even then they can't be stopped from breeding with the animal.

Sadly I'm talking in general not in reality about this case :(

What is it you are talking about then PDEA - one can't critizise in a general way, there will be know understanding of what is being complained about or if the complaint is fair.

Can you not tell us what the actual problem is?
