Help, ever since we had our 15 week old lab (3 weeks now) he seems to have a case of the runs. He goes about two or sometimes three times a day which I think is regular but i am yet to see him produce a "solid" poo. Is this usual, is he unwell?. I cannot see any blood traces and sometimes it is better than others (more solid). I have spoken with Eukanuba to see if this could be caused by his diet (puppy and junior large breed) but they assure me that the diet he is on is very good for him!!!
Could it be that he is still settling in to his new environment?. I think it is common in most labs but he does tend to eat anything he see's on his travels which i am sure does not help. He seems happy in himself and very playful and it is upsetting to think he could be in some discomfort!!.
Any suggestions?
A few ideas:
He could still be settling in, perhaps.
You may be feeding him too much. Often the feeding requirements printed on the food bag encourages over-feeding.
He may have eaten something 'unpleasant' but that shouldn't be on-going.
The food may not agree with him. Is it different to what the breeder was feeding?
Hope that helps.

Even a change in tap water can cause an upset stomach.
do you have a high fluride content locally?? perhaps try bottled or filtered water..?

Hi maybe a trip to the vets,I have a problem with one of mine at the moment I know there is a bug doing the rounds but you cant be to carefull with such a young puppy GoodLuck.

Have u tried the lamb and rice. Tiva got the runs never solid till I switched her to lamb and rice. Maybe the dog food does not agree with ur little one.

My Labrador has this problem. The Vet said that I should feed her more fibre, e.g. mixer biscuit, shredded wheat, rice or even wholemeal bread.
Labradors do tend to eat things they find, which may give them an upset stomach.
