I am not sure if this should be in health or behaviour. my 6 month old pup fell awkwardly a few days ago and injured her leg. vet has advised rest. Problem is if I take the others out for their walk and don't take her she is screaming the whole time I am out. Daughter is at home and has to get up and  sit with pup to keep her quiet and is not happy as I usually go out about 5:00am. Pup is OK being left at other times. it just seems to be when she is missing her walk.

Any suggestions how I can stop the screaming without stopping everyones walks until her leg is better.

Distraction with something like a filled kong that has been frozen as that will last a bit longer.

thanks. I di dtry a few chicken wings which seemed to keep her quiet for a few minutes but but then she was back to screaming. I don't usually use a kong but will give it a go.

She is not left on her own as I leave her with her mum and another dog. have tried leaving her in a crate and loose but still screaming.

How big is pup, if she is a small breed it may be possible to put her in a baby sling and take her with you. If of course she is a larger breed this would be out of the question. Just a thought...
