I lost my beautiful GSD Indy in tragic circumstances 10 weeks ago. Now my remaining beautiful older GSD girl China has been diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma. It is in the liver and spleen, and maybe elsewhere too.

I will not put her through surgery, as the prognosis is so poor in any case and she is nearly 11. We had the xray and diagnosis at the beginning of the week when she was off her food and her stomach was distended.  She was comfortable, so we brought her home to have a few happy days with her to say goodbye, something we were denied with Indy. The vet is coming at 5pm today to send her to the bridge to rejoin Indy who she was missing so much. I cannot believe it. I will have lost both my beautiful angels in the space of 10 weeks. I am beyond devastated.

I am so sorry for your news...my older dog has been diagnosed with "something on her spleen"... She also has a hematoma type lump on her throat. Her last Eco showed the spleen cyst has doubled in size...I am on eggshells.
I am sorry you've lost two so close together...it is difficult enough to lose one.I lost a part of my heart in January too.
My condolences.

I'm really sorry to read this, having lost a beloved GSD 13 weeks ago at the vets I feel your pain and I always say it never ever gets any easier. Will be thinking of you.

I am so so sorry for you. I know China was missing Indy terribly. I think you have made the right decision to send her to the bridge where she and Indy will be together again and happy. I will be thinking of you this afternoon.

R I P China xx

I am so,so sorry - losing a dog is always painful but to lose two in such a short space of time is devastating. Take comfort in knowing you did what was right for your dog.

So very sorry, life is sometimes very cruel. Sleep tight China, at least you will have these last minutes with her still, and she is with you to the end. {{{hug}}}

Oh, I am so sorry, ChinaBlue.  This must be so hard - to lose your second beloved dog so soon after Indy.  Just remember that you have done the best you possibly can for her, and that is all we can ever do.  X
- By sillysue Date 02.08.13 17:14 UTC
So very sorry. Looking at the clock she should be safe and well again now with Indy.
My heart goes out to you and the pain you must be in right now, I am sending hugs and healing thoughts to you.

Sorry to read of your loss. All we can all do is our best for our dogs and unfortunately that sometimes means we have to relieve their suffering and help them on their way to the bridge. In time you will recall all the good times you spent with your dogs.
- By Dill [gb] Date 02.08.13 20:48 UTC
So sorry you're going through this again.   It never gets any easier.

Thank you all. She is now at the bridge with Indy, and I am desolate. She was my rock and my shadow, the empty space she leaves is like the universe.

Oh ChinaBlue, there are no words that can help in these cases. Please know that we know and understand your pain. RIP China, reunited with Indy
- By ChinaBlue [gb] Date 03.08.13 21:06 UTC
I wish I could kick and scream but I just feel defeated and broken, and don't know what to do with myself.
- By HuskyGal Date 03.08.13 22:10 UTC
Oh Hon,
I know, feels like the oxygen's been sucked out of the room doesn't it... You walk through the house but feel like your having an out of body experience, numb and not really there.
As if the hole in your heart isn't painful enough our beloved companions leave such a big hole in everything in our lives ~ it's cold comfort I know but your Champdog buddies have all been there, and we *are* all here for however long you need us xxx
Just let your feelings take their course x
