Hi,I have had one dog who had three big seizures at aged three...we tested her thyroid, bloods were fine...and decided that she seized because she was low sugar and very highly strung. She would get very upset and pace before thunderstorms ,go into stress mode if my hub sneezed, didnt like the wind flapping my blinds outside. etc..
We gave Bach rescue remedy prior to a stress situation ...
We gave her honey """""". """. """"" """""". """""""
We fed her more frequently, even tempting her to eat a second meal..
We eliminated all possible stimulants..eg room perfumes,rawhides..
We used ocular massage hen she was pre ictal...which stopped her going into a full fit..
And I am proud to say she never fitted again...just the pre stages, the pacing and disorientation...but we managed to divert her enough not to fit.
Bodymassage,eg tellington touch also worked to get her calmer.
hope this helps..
She has passed on now at 13, but we never gave up.epilepsy is so distressing for the owner,I believe though the dog suffers less than we do.The key is to try to find the trigger for your dog.
