checking on the Kennel Club site how many puppies a breeder has registered?

In a word, no. You'd have to know the names of all the mothers and some of each bitch's offspring has to have been health tested for the litters to be listed.

Thanks.  I was hoping that someone knew something that I hadn't discovered! :)

I don't think this is true now, is it, with the dawning of MyKC (which, fair play to the Kennel Club, I am loving - so much more information available!).

I think with some smaller breeders you probably could get everything they've bred by just using their affix - you can certainly get some fairly long lists.

BRS wd be the only way.

I haven't actually checked it out yet -got a mail about it ages ago but not done anything about it. Will have to have a look.

It's great, Marianne. To search on other people's dogs, go to the Tools & Resources bit.

I can certainly get a list of 100 dogs just by putting an affix in. You can also get a list of all puppies sired by a dog (or a bitch, of course, but dogs more interesting), plus any health tests for their puppies.

Just had a look at MyKC  and yes you can find a list of pups now complete with names, whether health tested or not. But I can't see a way of ever finding out how many litters somebody has bred.

If I search for a dog but instead of putting the whole dog's name in, I just put my affix, I get a list of every dog that I have bred or that has had my affix on it. I have no idea if there is a numbers limit on it, but I got a list of 100 searching for another breeder's affix.

Oh will have to go have a nosey now. :)

The other great improvement on the standard KC health checker is that you there is some leeway around the dog's name - in that it will 'fill' for you, so you can type first part of name. Old KC site was such a nightmare, particularly with imports, for having to get the name exact.

I've just checked the progeny of a bitch my boy was mated to--previous litters are all listed on My KC

It seems that's all you can get just using an affix, as I just tried with the kennel I got my foundation bitch from. They bred for over 30 years but just one litter a year. 100 dogs but my bitch or any from the same litter was not included, plus various others I know of.
