My daughter ,just back from the vets with her 3 year old Gsd bitch, has been told by the vet that a lump on her front elbow could be one,but she could have her xrayed to rule out anything more sinister,He dosent think it is because of her age .
If a calcuim deposit he will not operate as a difficult place for good healing,
So folks What are your thoughts ,would you put your dog through a GA for this ??

Any thoughts please.

Is it just the skin that feels affected, or does it feel as if it may be deeper ie bone? If I had any doubts at all, I would Xray. Even if it did feel like just deposit within the skin, if it looked or felt weird and unlike the other calcinosis cutis cases I have seen (not many, it's not common), I would Xray just to have a look at the bone. Poss also biopsy.

Thank you so much for your reply,I think that she will go for a xray just to rule out anything more sinister,we always worry about them going under a GA ,but my thoughts are the same as yours ,better be safe than sorry,Will ask her to get a biopsy done at the same time .
