Maybe a daft question, but does anyone have any idea where I can buy a set of pan scales for weighing pups please? Medium size breed, so will be looking at 500g plus :-) Our kitchen scales are outgrown now with pups at a week old lol, thank you x

Have you tried looking on ebay at the baby scales?

I used fishing scales and a nylon bag

i have a large breed and always find kitchen type scales a pain as pups wriggle, i use a old pillow case with 2 holes in the top and fishing scales, place a puppy into the pillow case and because they are fully supported they tend not to wriggle as much and so i get a better reading from the scales, as pups get bigger i have a fabric shopping bag with handles which we use and i find this usually does mine right upto 8 weeks old where they can reach 8kg plus.

I bought some baby weighing scales from ebay - brilliant, weigh from birth until they leave easily.  Plenty of room for pups for them as they grow.  You can weigh in lbs or grams.

Cheapest one currently on ebay is - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/brand-new-Digital-Glass-Bench-LCD-Baby-Weighing-Scale-EBSC-20-/321160506841?pt=UK_Home_Garden_BathroomAccessories_SM&hash=item4ac6a86dd9

A very worthwhile investment in my opinion.

Only thing with the ones on ebay is that they weigh in 5g graduation, the ones I have are a bit more expensive but weigh in 2g graduation, these are the ones I've had for 5 years now and still going strong http://www.rapidscales.co.uk/baby-scales/23-my-weigh-mbsc-55-baby-scale-016165002087.html

Iv checked mine and the lowest weight that registered on it was 450g so dont think they would work for toy breed pups.

If you mean 1kg then yes and my breed is boxers works great on the wrigglers.
