I was on here recently talking about wheels for our Boxer that still had a zest for life but had back leg problems.
During the day on Tuesday she was trying to run with the other dogs and really enjoyed herself and was better than she had been for a very long time, but Tuesday night she suddenly became completely paralysed all over.
Rushed her to the referral specialist in Newmarket. They did scans and on Wednesday they found a very aggressive tumour in her stomach and a different part of her spine ( it wasn't there in scans 4 months ago ) it is growing so rapidly.
This morning they were discussing operating but we felt we couldn't put her through that as well at her age, but while we were discussing it they went to wake her to take her for an assisted walk but instead of being asleep she had died in her sleep. Peacefully.
The tumour had taken her in less than 48 hours.
I know she is safe now and we knew it was going to happen, but she took the decision away from us. It is still a shock and an upset.

Run now babe with  freedom and no back leg problems.

So sorry, it's comforting when they go in their sleep, it's a shock, but glad she did not suffer anymore, you did everything you could for her, may she run free now and sending you a much needed {{hug.}}

I am so sorry -what a shock for you. I know it is so hard when you don't get a chance to say goodbye, and it is difficult to take everything in when you never get time to think things over properly. At least your girl went peacefully and didn't have to be ill for long -but it's harder for you.

How lovely that she went so peacefully and saved you so much anguish, remember the good times, don't dwell on her passing, or beat yourself up for it, she is at peace and free from pain now

So sorry you've lost your lovely girl, but she didn't suffer and went peacefully.   I hope that's a comfort to you in the time to come, once you get over the shock.

So sorry for your loss. Take comfort in the fact that she went peacefully in her sleep. She had one last happy day with you on Tuesday, picture her being happy and enjoying herself with your other dogs,perhaps that was her giving you one last happy time together.

Really sorry to hear you lost her but take comfort from knowing she went peacefully in her sleep.

I think we would all like our dogs to die in such a peaceful way, mainly because we then don't have to make that awful decision.
But it's hard when it's so sudden isn't it. So sorry it had to end this way especially when you thought she was picking up. My thoughts are with you.

So very sorry to read this and that you did not have time to say your goodbyes and yet I am also so glad that she took that decision from you. She is not having any discomfort now. RIP

Many thanks for all your very kind thoughts. This is the the hurt we all have to bear in order to have the love and companionship of dogs in our lives. They just don't live long enough. But then again there are many children and young adults that go before their time as well, so this hurt is a part of life I suppose.

It doesn't get any easier does it, my thoughts are with you.
