Hi
My girl started to bleed 10 days ago for just a day. Then stopped and started again about 4/5 days later so could now be Day 10 or 3/4. I had a test sent to Idexx yesterday and reading is 1.8. Suggested a retest in 3/4 days which is Sun/Mon but the said maybe to be safe should retest tomorrow. But then blood reading may not be as accurate as blood in transit for 2 days???? My own Vet has mixed thoughts about  when to do next test. Unfortunatley the Idexx guy who is mor knowledgaeable is off this week. Just wondered what thoughts were about when to re test
Thanks

1.8 nmol is baseline levels so re test at three to four days sounds reasonable.
Table I use to interpret results below :

0-2 nmol/L Baseline concentrations too early to estimate ovulation
3 - 6 nmol /L Minimum 2 days before ovulation expected however result of 3 - 4 nmol/L may persist for a week or longer before increasing. Earliiest estimating breeding 4 - 6 days but could be longer (re test needed)
7 - 12 nmol/L Minimum 1 day before ovulation. Estimated window for breeding 3 - 5 days but could be longer ( re test recommended)
13 - 18 nmol/L Ovulation impending or just occurred. Estimated breeding window 2 - 4 days
19 - 31 nmol/L Ovulation recently occurred. Estimated breeding window 1 - 3 days
32 - 64 nmol/L Ova have matured, optimal potential for fertility. Estimated breeding window 0 - 2 days
65 - 90 nmol/L Ova have matured but aging, decreased potential for fertility. Breed at once

To convert to reported levels in ng divide the above reading by 3.18

I had my bitch tested on her 7th day as she was lifting her tail, results were retest in two days so I asked for the readings and they were 8.7.
Im taking her for a mating tomorrow day 10th day and agin 13th day hopefully that will cover her.

What scale is being used for reporting for your test Ellejake ? It is important to know as the scale is very different.
If the result is in nmol/ l you are way too soon however if the reading is in ng than 8.7 coverts to 26 .66nmol/l  so you are in the breeding window.
Good luck

Im not sure what scale. When asked for the results I was told retest in two days I had to ring back for more info and was told 8.7.
I mated day 11, she was a bit reluctant but had a 15 tie, im going to try a repeat mating 14th or 15th day.
