I hope I am permitted to ask this.
We have been planning on getting a GR puppy and had found a lovely breeder who's dog was mated mid May. We have just come back from Canada to the devastating news that mum to be had developed pyometra, lost her pups and had to be speyed.
The breeder has said she would help to find another suitable breeder, but I hope to get some advice from here too. We would prefer a dog that is a good Golden colour this time, having had a cream GR, so can anyone point me to a breeder of more golden dogs in the Glos/wilts/oxon area? I've checked out on the Champdogs listing, but there seems to be an awful lot of lighter dogs being bred at the moment or they are a long distance away if the colouring might be right. It's not the be all and end all as temperament and health is key, but as this is likely to be our last puppy (given our ages) it would be good to get all our preferences right. We are looking for a pup during August if possible.
If I'm not allowed to put this kind of question on this forum, many apologies and please delete the post.
