Heading over to stay with my sister who lives locally this weekend and going to Windsor on the Friday, i presume it's ok if we bring her two well behaved young children? Have told her already that touching dogs etc is not on and anyway she has taught her children not to touch strange dogs anywhere anyway. They have a retriever themselves so the kids aren't over excited about seeing dogs as is.

Yes it's fine.  Just have to advise them that they can't go in the ring where the dogs are showing.....

Over 25 years ago now my daughter managed to get out of the straps of her trolley and ran to me straight across the ring in the middle of judging. If that was not bad enough granny ran after her !!!
Ever wished the ground would open up and swallow you.
I am sure well behaved children would be welcome, it is the ones who run about unsupervised and make loud noises and sudden movements that are problem.
My dogs are all fine, but not all dogs at shows will be used to children.

You'll probably find loads of people more than happy to let their dog be petted, only some of the more highly groomed (before being judged) are likely to mind unless hands are sticky.

Mine adore kids, especailly as we don't have any resident oens any more, so the visiting ones are all the more relished.

No they can't eat a whole one ;)

Never mind kids, beware of the grannies! I once brought my mum to a show and she went straight into the ring taking photos of my daughter handling one of our dogs. The steward tried to evict her but she just pretended to not speak English!! Next time I brought her to a show I told her all photography was forbidden so leave the camera at home!
