Interesting article. However I am not sure I agree with her that people won't like the offspring of their dogs. I certainly haven't found that. They are different from their parent but I love them all for who they are. It is great to see them develop and to find out if I have achieved my aims for the litter.
I think she means neccesarily like in the way you have a special bond with some dogs, your dog of a lifetime.
Her roomate comparison makes sense, you cna like your roomate but you wouldn't marry them or feel for them like members of your family, though sometimes you do.
I'd agree though that if your loking for a dog just like 'Missy' you will rarely find her in her offspring.
