Am I safe to use this on pebbles in the dog area to reduce and smells ? I ahve dogs and cats and know its not safe for cats but water on and area like this which wont pool but sink through and dry fairly quickly what do you think ?
- By roscoebabe [gb] Date 16.06.13 10:10 UTC
I use it but I don't have cats. I mix it first then pour onto the area, leave it for 5 mins then hose it all down as I don't want the dogs getting it on their feet.
- By furriefriends Date 16.06.13 10:19 UTC
hmm perhaps I will stick to zoflora and use the jeyes for the bins
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 16.06.13 10:22 UTC
I use a disinfectant and then rinse over with biological washing liquid -it removes the smell!
- By chaumsong Date 16.06.13 10:57 UTC
You might be better using something like odourfresh It is completely safe for animals even when wet, it smells lovely and gets rid of all nasty smells. It's pretty cheap too, I've been using it for years and it really is fabulous - not the nasty strong smell you get with jeyes or zoflora :-)

last thing at night we throw diluted  Lysol Disinfectant down onto our patio tiles...it disinfects  and leaves a nice smell. during the day we hose after each wee or poo, aftercleanup, and  also use soapy water to scrub the tiles down.

I have been using mistral indoors I think it similar to obourfresh but have run out. Stupid me I didnt think of that !! Funnily I love the smell of jeyes its that coal tar fragrance. I also love coal tar soap.
Perhaps I ought to ask mistral if they do a coal tar one lol

It's the same stuff, mistral odourfresh :-)

I have now put in an order for 4 bottles thank you problem solved. I am sure it is cheaper than it used to be ?
- By JeanSW Date 16.06.13 21:46 UTC
Can I ask where you ordered it please?  I am down to my last dribble, but last time I checked on ebay, they had withdrawn their fantastic offer.  I used to buy 2 spearmint and 2 eucalyptus.  Always smelled really clean after washing the kitchen floor.

You can order direct -  http://mistralie.co.uk/products/odourfresh-pet-disinfectant-standard

Thank you  :-)

Blimey!  I've just set up an account, and ordered from them.

Checked my email to see if they have confirmed.  My email warns me that they have failed their fraud detection tests!  :-(
- By MsTemeraire Date 16.06.13 22:47 UTC
Yikes, that's not good, I wonder if that has any connection to the disappearing from ebay?
- By MsTemeraire Date 16.06.13 22:54 UTC
What about these people instead, just found them on a search...

That does sound as if it does the same thing.  I will see if anything arrives from Mistral first, as I've paid for it.  As they have sent confirmation I will hang fire for now.  But the warning came as a bit of a shock!
- By MsTemeraire Date 16.06.13 23:01 UTC
I've just ordered from the above ones.
- By JeanSW Date 16.06.13 23:05 UTC
Let's see which arrives first.  :-)
- By furriefriends Date 17.06.13 08:08 UTC
I have ordered from the link chamsung gave but was surprised when I looked at the mistral site on ebay.

I ordered from Mistral last month and it arrived within the same week

Despatched already, so they say - ETA tomorrow or Wednesday :-P
Can't come soon enough, a (suicidal?) tom cat seems to have wandered into the kitchen this afternoon and sprayed - or wet itself when the dogs saw it! - absolutely reeks and wafting through the house, and elderly mother's social worker is coming tomorrow, so I will be swabbing the decks at midnight.
- By Charlie Brown [gb] Date 18.06.13 05:29 UTC
We had a Tom cat spraying the wall next to the front door.....it wafted all through the house!

I washed the area with bio washing liquid diluted in water and sprayed the wall with a solution of white vinegar and water, third vinegar to two thirds water.

The smells gone and so has the Tom cat....

Well I ordered the other day too, decided to try the 25litre rather than the smaller 5 litres, it has arrived already but I'll stick to the smaller (5l) bottles in future, much easier to lift!
- By MsTemeraire Date 19.06.13 21:53 UTC
Mine arrived today :)

4 x 5L containers - "mixed fragrances" one each of cherry, lemon, lavender and ocean breeze.
I will never get though all of them so I've opened each one to have a sniff to decide which to keep. Ocean Breeze is a bit bathroom cleaner/washing powdery but I quite like it. Lemon is nice. Cherry is more Maraschino. Lavender is better than I thought it would be.

A neighbour may be interested in having one, but which one do I part with...? lol
Anyone local to me or passing through is welcome to one at cost price if they can collect - I paid £26.45 in total for the 4 inc p&p so that's £6.62 each.... bargain!

(I'm in central Somerset, just a few minutes away from the famous shopping village).

I would keep them you will get through them its amazing what you end up using it for. I have been known to add it to the laudry and certainly the dogs bed , the floors, works surfaces, cleaning dustbins and so one

I had a phone call from Mistral this morning.  I had ordered what I always use 2 Spearmint 2 Eucalyptus, and a lady said that they were out of Spearmint.  Not a problem for me, I will take all the same, they are the only 2 I like.

I appreciated the phone call, and assume they have now been despatched.  :-)

You might be right.... plans are afoot for dividing the garden so the concreted area will be for the dogs only, it has a manhole cover in it to the sewer, so I anticipate hosing it down regularly (only 2 dogs so no real need to do it every day as long as it doesn't start smelling of wee, and I can spot clean with a watering can).  I still have a bit left of the Vanilla which I bought about 9 months ago (co-incidentally the same make) so I was thinking 25L might be a bit ambitious.

Does it go off? especially as I have opened them all for a sniff - oops.
