1st question
can you enter avnsc working puppy if there are classes for your breed ( junior, pg and open )

2nd question,

if they are not in avnsc and marked as absent from that class can they then go into the breed class.
in this case all AVNSC classes were 1st in the ring and the person conserned missed it and then went into the breed class later in the day.

Question one I think is yes and question two is no. In fact you can do AV puppy and if you win still go into group or BPIS.

If you miss or withdraw from a breed class you should not enter any others but I am not sure about AVNSC because puppies are different to all other classes.

From what I read they missed the av class & went into breed class.

I believe these all have to be reported by sec to KC, then its up to them.

Things are slightly different when pups are concerned.

I would take it the breed is classified & the fact there is junior which is from 6 months, so a puppy is eligable to enter that & shouldnt really go into nsc. Thats my take on it but no doubt they can???...lol

No. If there are classes for your breed then it's not 'Not Separately Classified' - you could enter AV working but not AVNSC working. Your puppy could still be best puppy in its breed if its only beaten by a Juniors or older.

Not sure that is right JG would have to check to be sure but pups can enter AV puppy and not a breed class if there is not a puppy class and still go forward to puppy group.

AV yes, but not AVNSC if there are classes for their breed.

Hi JG - yes you are right I just came back to say that if it was AVNSC then the pup should have been entered in breed or an AV puppy class.

was in avnsc but didnt go in and the owner missed the class and then went into the breed class, i always thought you could not do that, its the puppy group dogs i feel sorry for cause they went on to win the working puppy group.

AVNSC is in stead of a Breed Classification for BREEDS not classified with their own breed classes, so even if your breed only has an Open class you cannot enter a puppy which has it's BREED CLASSIFIED in AVNSC.

Any breed can enter the Any Variety class for it's group or overall.

If there is no puppy class for the breed it is allowed to enter Any Variety puppy without entering the breed, but not any Variety Not Separately Classified, as the breed is classified
