My dog has chf and the last couple of days she has very loose stools. Normally once or twice a day .could this be related.
We always seem to have problems on a weekend or bank holidays.

If your dog is being given furosemide, then this is one of the side effects ;-)

Mashed sweet potato or butternut squash is good for loose stools,  just a teasp or two with dinner.

Hope this helps

Itay be that one of her medications is causing it.    Furosemide has a number of 'brand' names'.

Thanks!  She is a bit better today in that she hasn't been to the loo only once but it was still loose.

She isn't on any water tablets only Enalapril  and Pimobendan.

I did phone the vet last night as she was very lethargic and was finding it difficult to lay comfortably . He said to monitor overnight and to see how she was this morning. Unless she got any worse.

Well this morning she was livelier and went for a short walk to the green . I carried her back and she is sleeping in a more comfortable position.

Sometimes, I don't know if her symptoms are due to being older or her heart condition.  Either way, it is very worrying at times.
