I have two boston terriers, the older dog jumped up at me and on the way down he clawed the other dog in the eye. He had to have surgery and the ulcer was healing well after the 3rd eyelid was used to protect it, the day he went back to vets for a check up, the other dog did it again and it resulted in the eye collapsing. He has had the 3rd eyelid sutured again but I would like to ask if this has happened to anyone else and what the chances of recovery. I really don't want my dog to have his eye removed.

Hello
Sorry to hear about what has happened to your dog.
I can only offer a bit of advice on the ulcer.
A while ago a lady contacted me that bred pugs. Eye ulcers are a common problem in pugs and one of her bitches had had to have an eye removed due to an ulcer.
However, a friend of hers also had a pug with a very severe ulcer that was not responding to the usual treatments. The vet used plasma from blood taken from the dog to put directly into the eye. The reault was fantastic and with frequent use of the plasma the eye completely healed.
I have mentioned this to the vet that writes for Ourdogs" and he too has heard of many sucess stories using this treatment.
Have a word with your vet and let me know how it goes.
