Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Illness - Kennel Club recognised events?

Clarification: Do schedules or entry forms carry any recommendations/warnings about attending Kennel Club recognised events if your animal has been ill or been in contact with other infectious animals? Do the Kennel Club not issue any guidelines on this issue?

For Open and Championship Shows (which you have to enter in advance) the owner signs a Declaration that says (among other things) "I/We also undertake....not to bring to the Show any dog which has contracted or been knowingly exposed to any infectious or contagious disease during the 21 days prior to the Show".

The Show in question as an Exemption Show, which is entered on the day. I don't know if entrants have to sign anything.

Exemption shows I think you just pay your pennies and you're in! I hope Heidi does heed the advice given as she is wanting to get into showing proper, and should know how things are done :)

it states on an entry form that you must not take any dog to a show that has either been ill, or had on the premises any illness for around 4 weeks, ---i know this was only an exemption show, but when you register a dog with the kc they have a code of ethics you agree too, and if all thats not enough, surely common sense comes into it, ---theres an awful lot of illness going around at the minute, youve only got to read the board to see how bad its got, :(
