A friend visited me today and she's just left, She bought her dog will her which she doesn't normally do but I didn't mind, but what I do mind is her dog took one of my dogs favourite toys under the dining room table and chewed it up into tiny pieces. But the annoying thing was the way she reacted to it, I didn't get ''oh I'm so sorry look what my dogs has done I will buy your dog another toy to replace it'' What I got was ''oh he always does that with toys that's way we don't give him any'' and when she left to go home she left me the mess to clear up. I wish I knew how to put angry smiles on here.

I never mind if visiting dog chews toys up, I try and keep an eye on them and remove anything I want to survive :-)  That said if I am visiting elsewhere I also keep an eye on my dogs and wouldn't let them wreck someone else's toy. You'll know not to invite them again :-D

Yes my dogs do too.

A friend of mine brought her puppy round to meet me and my dogs soon after she got him. He peed on the floor and she just sat there while my mum cleared it up. She's not been invited back with her dogs since! It's just bad manners isn't it, dogs are dogs and do these things but it's only fair for their owner to clear it up and apologise.

I'd have been pretty annoyed myself!

iv been on the other side, my girl has the jaws of a hyena and destroys any normal dog toys in minits, when we take her to my brothers they dont normaly have toys out so didnt think to look but one time after realising my girl was being too quiet somewhere i couldnt see her i found her chewing a hole in a toy. I appoliged and offered to replace it but they said not to bother as there rip them open anyway. now i do a toy sweep when we get there and pick up the toys one to stop my girl eating them and two to prevent any anguments as there dogs dont share well and good chace one would bite her over a toy or chew.

I'm not very subtle so the next time we had conversation (whether over the phone or face to face) I would say 'I don't suppose you've seen another toy like the one yours chewed to bits that day? It was my dog's favourite and I haven't been able to find another one since. He's so upset and won't play with anything else. It's such a shame....' lol.

I'd have been pretty annoyed & would probably have said something, ours have little interest in toys but food/chews are another matter. Visit a friend regularly whose Polish lowland sheepdog has little interest in chews that are left lying around the house, have to ask them to pick them up before we enter or Lucas hoovers his way around the house like a basking shark.

I didn't realise her toys were still out, and I didn't know she was bringing her dog with her until she turned up.

Oh dear I had better not take my crew round as they are well known for leaving with toys hidden in their mouths !!

My story is a bit different - our friend who has now sadly passed away called to see us and walked in with his dog without a word of warning to us.   I had no idea how Meg was going to react but she was actually OK thankfully.  However our friend's dog just marched over to Meg's basket and cocked his leg on it.  We were gob smacked!!!   Our friend (who had never visited with his dog before) said - oh he has never done that before!!!???!!!  I wonder. 

Angry = : mad : but with no gaps. :-)

I'm afraid human courtesy is fast disappearing with some people, no-one minds someone's dog doing something like that, just the fact that its owner doesn't say sorry. I wouldn't expect anyone to replace a toy, but I would expect them to be even a little bit apologetic and yes to clean it up, as I'm Mrs Neatfreak I guess they would know that anyway. :-D

I stopped allowing one friend to visit with her dogs after they, pee'd poo'd and chased my cats, with zero apology or offer to clean up.
