Just out of interest I wondered what sort of meal times you would fo for 7/8 week old puppies. How close to your bedtime would you give food?

I guess it depends on what time you go to bed - You need to give the pup enough time to relive themselves after dinner and before bed time :)

I usually give mine 4 feeds at that age and the last one about 9/9.30 pm.

Hi Hazenaide. How are your puppys doing? Mine are a week behind yours and my remaining 4 are very well, chubby, running around the house and all have lovely new owners for when the time is right, apart from my little girl who we can't part with. After losing our other little lady at 3 weeks, we were so devasted that i knew in my heart she wouldn't be leaving us. I'm not ashamed to say that it took awhile to get over losing a puppy for me and for a few days lost sight of the fact that i had 4 others that needed me. (OH took over!) Thank you Hazenaide for your kind words at that time and i am grateful that there are people like you who come onto this forum to give support and guidance when some of us have a wobbly moment.
Good luck with the meal times. I feed mine just before i go to bed so they have full bellys and sleep a little longer, before they have me up at 5.30am sharp for more!

Glad yours are doing well now. Mine are actually going over the weekend apart from one that is staying.
I did have a problem about a week and a half ago with very loose motions which I discussed on here but over that problem. They are eating like horses
That is what I wondered because mine are getting up really early and wanting to eat straight away of course.
I totally agree that there are times of darkness and dispair and this forum can be a shoulder to cry on perhaps sometimes when other people do not quite understand perhaps because they have not got quite so involved or their emotions are different.

I feed last meal of 4 about 10pm, but we rarely go to bed before Midnight.  Breakfast is 8am.
