Does anyone have experience of inporting dogs,
I have been onto the DEFRA website and have printed off loads of info but people I chat to tell me the laws have been relaxed here in Engalnd . Does this just mean the PETS scheme?

If you're talking mals Urze de Monte, Daniel Rodriguez (see breeders list) is quite knowledhable about importing...or at least that was the impression I got from him in 2000. I'm hearing alot lately that the European mals are alot smaller than ours and haven't done well at show in the UK. I agree with what Jannat Al Haddad said recently in Dog World, there are too many variations of the breed appearing in the ring but saying that we do have some very good (true to type)lines within UK mals at the moment. We should endeavour to preserve and enhance our UK mals. I'm dying to know what/who you've got you're eye on! :)

I have spoken to Daniel in the past and I know a couple of his dogs are on their way in as we speak but this is not really the bloodlines I was looking at.
I may contact Jannat Al Haddad if I need advice

Stormklouds kennels USA offer a stud service, frozen semen available....it might be worth a look.I'm not sure quite how you'd ship frozen sperm or if it's possible but they are responsible for some nice champions. They have mals all over the world. If you do a search on stormklouds kennels, you should find the website. :)

You were one of the people I initially contacted when our breeder packed us off to research anybody/anything remotely to do with mals. If I remember rightly I think you had a litter around the same time as Jayne. It would be nice to see a mal breeder doing well in the North East. :)

Actually on that note you should contact Jannat Al Haddad for advice or Janetta c/o Seacourts, didn't they import their first mals? I'm sure Jannat still has overseas contacts:)
