Have heard lots of folk saying how good these are. can someone advise o what to look for. I have mainly tiles everywhere and some laminate but with the dogs in and out its a constant battle to keep clean. Got to thinking a steam cleaner would be a useful tool to have but when I googled them there are so many types I dont quite know where to start. Can you guys advise please :-)

We have not long got a H20mopX5 & all seems good so far. Getting the dirt out of the grout & off textured tiles(mostly ink print off newspaper) from where the puppy play pen was.

Ditto the H2O...great little thing for just over £60.

When I read the reviews there were several people saying the handle snapped.....I can see why, they must be pushing it over rough surfaces like a shampooer, not at all how it was designed.

All in all, I love it.

Polti Vaporetto Pocket £59.99 delivered free on Amazon.  It will do your floors, as well as deodorise dog beds, freshen up your clothes, defrost your freezer and many other things too. :)

We've just ordered the H20mopX5 today, reviews were mixed but hoping it's good as I hate a conventional mop :(

They all look good on the telly!

There just seems to be so many different types about. What exactly can they be used for(realistically and successfully)

We had the x5, or should I say we have had a few the machine was nice and did the job but it died on us after a month of use. After the 3rd exchange I gave up and bought a little £50 one, its lasted ages and is great for cleaning the dog beds.

The smaller ones that have extention poles to go the floor do so much more than just the floor.  If you've been with smokers, steam will remove all traces of smoke from your clothes.  It will freshen and deodorise trainers - yuk.  I get all sorts of crud out from round the bottom of taps, toilet seat fixings and places that a cloth can't usually get to.  I use mine to get rid of creases in clothes instead of ironing - even sleeves, just hold the cuff and blast down the armhole!  Any spills on the carpet, I blast it upwards and into a cloth - it's quicker than getting the carpet shampooer out.  My freezer in the garage is an old one and doesn't automatically defrost.  It used to take me all day to do that and with the steamer I do it twice a year in half an hour.  The uses are endless. :)  Polti and Shark seem to be the best - I've had both over the years.

A floor steamer just cleans the floor.

This is really hard. Each time I think I have decided I find a negative review somewhere. Was looking at the Shark Lift Away. Does anyone have one of these. Would rather pay a bit more and feel confident

I've got a old Shark but my Father has one of these.

His cleaner says it's the best she's used and uses a number of different machines that her clients have. :)

I have a karcher steam cleaner which does everything except the floor. It has a floor attachment but I really dont find it works. Yes its brillent withits want and and little wire brush thing for evrything else. I have cleaned fridges wall tiles paintwork windows and so on. For the floor I have the asda stem clean that just does the floor cost £25 recommended by someone on here. Its not that robust but for the money its really good.
I would look at the polti as a replacement for my karcher as my sil has one of those and was really pleased. They are pricy though but we have had them for 20 years

Still looking at these and undecided, there is such variation on the reviews. Dont want to spend more than about 150.
Multitask? How are you getting on with yours?
