I need to take iron supplements but dread the well know side effects (I'm sure most know what that is without mentioning :-) )...

Besides Spa Tone are there any good ones that don't have that effect...or what can I do along side to counteract it?

Cheers
J

I would think prunes and figs would get most things moving!!
My old standby is Activia yoghurts.

I have tried lots of iron supplements and had nasty side effects with most of them.  I was told ferrous fumerate was gentler on the tum than ferrous sulphate but I couldn't take either. My consultant has now put me on sytron (I think it's for babies/young children) with no side effects :-)

I am taking Floradix, which is in liquid form (but tastes quite pleasant). You can buy it from Holland and Barrett. I've not had any side effects.
