Can anyone help .I have "not for export" endorsements on my litter and have had an enquiry from a lady who has a holiday home in France,I have looked at the KC site but cannot find out if she  needs a passport to enable her to take her dog. I am assuming she will need one but can she get one with the endorsement on?
Thanks
Jan

It's not a problem: the 'Not for Export' endorsement refers to a ban on registering the dog with an overseas KC so that it can be shown and/or bred from there. It desn't mean that it can't go abroad on holiday or emigrate to live as a pet. :-) But yes, it'll need a passport.

That's not wholly correct - I have a dog living in France who doesn't have an export pedigree - she has the lowest tier of registration with the French KC and has been shown there.

It's only if she wanted to go for full registration and breeding that the export pedigree would be needed.

Many people now move their dogs around the world and there has to be mechanisms for people to be able to show even if not bred from - in the UK we have ATC - in the European countries it seems to be a basic level of registration required to permit showing - but yes export pedigree for breeding (although I haven't seen re-import against the names of some stud dogs who've gone overseas and then returned)

That's because they don't lose their original UK registration when the obtain the overseas one; no new application is needed.
