Hi everyone,

I have just looked through the our dogs paper and have found that not all the critiques from the Newton Aycliffe and district open show have been published. As far as I could see it was only the Keeshond and the Minature Schnauzer critiques that had been published. I am after the critique for the golden retrievers at this show. any idea if these will still be published, or not.
Any answers would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks, Marion

The critiques get printed as judge sends them in, so some judges may be quick, whilst others will take the month they are allowed to send them in. This then depends on how quick they get printed. It will be around 2 or so months after the show before they flow throw, although champs can be quicker(obviously depending again on the spead of judge sending them in)...hope that makes sense???

Lexy has more or less described what happens. What the papers say they will not promise to publish critiques that arrive over a month after the show, but it is up to them when they publish and sometimes they hold back an publish most all together and other shows they come out a couple at a time. Championship Shows seem to take precedence.

RisingSun87, if you mean the December show, judges were asked to submit their critiques as soon as possible so that they could appear with the photographs of the show in OD. I sent mine in within the week and it went in 04/01/2013, along with Golden Retrievers. If this is what you're looking for pm me

hi,
thanks for the information. I was told they could be in within 4 weeks of the show. The show I'm on about was March 17th. I'll just continue checking the paper each week to see if it's gone in. Hopefully I'll be able to find it eventually.
many thanks again,
Marion

Hope you find your critique soon, it's frustrating waiting. I've just checked the length of time between show and the appearance of critiques in OD for my dogs. Generally it has been 4-6 weeks, although I'm still waiting for critiques from 04/06/2012 (BOB), 18/11/2012 (BOB and then BIS--to be fair the BIS got a line), 03/02/2013 (BOB) and a couple of Open Stakes wins :-). It would help if it were part of the judge's contract to at least send critiques to the club secretary, so that even if they never reach print there is still a record to pass on to owners.

It is, or should I say on the breed club where I was secretary & I know of others that are(another breed club & general champ where I judged)...

Lexy, it was where I judged too, and I thought it was really sensible. If you pay your entry fee the least you can expect is a critique for a dog that does well on the day. I also spoke to exhibitors afterwards and offered to email them with critiques, which I think they appreciated--not as good as seeing it in the paper, but much faster and better than nothing at all.
