ive had a mismate with a bitch that im campaigning at the moment so not wanting her to have pups so ive had the alizin jab administered. But 3 weeks ago i mated my 3 year old girl 1st litter and suspect shes pregnant. My worry is that the bitch whos had the alizin jab, can she pass on any of the injection to my hopefully pregnant bitch. I know vet said the bitch whos had the jab may lose some discharge and be sick etc,  but my worry is can my other bitch pick up anything if she licks her back end could the alizin be passed on through saliva discharge etc. im going to keep them apart anyway.

Totally unlikely.  I used the Alizin jab for the first time about 18 months ago.  I PM'd a CD member who I knew had experience of it.  And I have never looked back.

I had a pregnant bitch in the house and all my gang sleep in the kitchen.  Pregnant bitches are only moved out shortly before whelping.  I had no problems at all.

I guess you're worried that - dogs being dogs - there might be some of the hormones secreted in vomit, wee or saliva, and your other girl might ermmmm 'ingest' that, lol

JeanSW has experience of the injection, so I'd trust her judgement. But if you are really worried then keeping them apart for a couple of days won't hurt... if it gives you peace of mind :)

Thank you for your advice. Very much appreciated. I was just a little bit unsure if it was safe putting the other bitch with her
