I beleive I have a wirehaired dachshund puppy. It wandered up to my house and
stayed so I kept it, not knowing what kind of dog it was until I took it to the
vet. I don't know anything about these dogs. How much are they worth if it is full
bred?

Have you contacted the police, local dog warden and vets to say that you have the dog? Someone somewhere may be going spare looking for this animal. I do not know what the laws on keeping found animals in the US are, but it might be worth finding out?

You must do everything you can to locate the owner !!!!
I had a dog stolen a while ago now and nearly went out of my mind with worry,sleepless nights etc etc..I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.
The dog might be cute and you might be in a position to give it a really nice home...but maybe somewhere it's real owners are going out of their minds with worry !!!
Please do the right thing :)
