Has anyone used a Hagen crate and if so what is it like ? We are STILL looking around for a crate .One we saw today was a decent price but it just seemed really flimsy .
I have just seen a Hagen on the net but you cant always tell the quality from a picture .
Would everybody recommend the Rosewood cages ?
Hope some of you can help

I have the crate from Argos which has withstood nearly 12mths of a mad spaniel and three equally mad children :D
It's not been collapsed since we've had it so I can't say if it will cope with being up and down all the time but it's very well built and is plenty big enough for a cocker spaniel and a couple of small children :)

I have a croft cage for Buffy the cocker, and a larger cage dont know the make of it i had for callum gsd when he was a pup, the only thing i would say about the croft cage is that the plastic tray at the bottom has really cracked so we have had to tape it up.

hi lel
I have a croft cage for Morgan but it has a metal tray in the bottom - Showman folding crate.

I have a Rosewood crate - my only complaint is my particular one only has one door - on the narrow end, if I was choosing again I'd go for one with two doors, one in long side, one in short end. This makes the crate much more flexible when it comes to positioning. Otherwise it's great (if a little large for just one dog, it's great for 2 <G>)

Thats something to bear in mind actually about the doors - as i was insure about getting one or two . But what you say makes sense about the positioning .
Is the rosewood quite sturdy then ?

Have you found these Lel? I have had 2 black 2 door cages for some time and have found them great. Excellent quality, very good value for money and prompt free delivery, complete with bedding.

Any ideas what make/model mine is? It has two doors, black tray at the bottom and fold up nice and neatly (not sure if they all do

). I bought it from the Retford Canine Society show the other week for £56.50 - GSD size. I thought that was quite good price wise and it seems sturdy enough?

The tray is VERY sturdy plastic. It took me some time to decide what it was made of! I always keep them up in my conservatory with the doors open, and my girls all pile in them together!
I do also carry them around, but they are very and strong, and I must say, quite heavy, so for shows I have one of those canvas ones.

I have not heard of canvas ones - can you tell me more ?
I think i will go ahead and order one from the site you recommended Val - thanks very much for your help .

Sure. Try www.doghealth.co.uk. They call them Light 'n' Easy Show Crates and they are brilliant. Many of our club shows aren't doing benching to keep the cost down. These are easy to carry and put up in 10 seconds. Much easier than a cage. If you quote Dog World, then the prices are £5 less - it all helps!

I bought one, and used it last week for the first time in the Hotel for the Pedigree stakes final, it was excellent. so easy to carry bag, crate and hold dogs lead up in the lift. When I went to Holland with the metal one it was heavy and had to wait for a trolley in order to get us into our r0oom.
