Hi,
Is there such a thing as an insurance policy which can be taken out in case you have to miss a show due to your bitch coming into season? i.e to recoup hotel costs etc?
Just wondered.

i doupt it, i know some will cover cancled hollidays if pet is ill but being in season wouldnt count as a medical condition.

Comes under the heading of "Sods Law" and the joy of showing bitches.

The more you are looking forward to the show and have booked a Hotel arranged to meet friends etc. The more likely your bitch will come into season.

If you book your Hotel with Laterooms or Booking.com. You can cancel up to the check in day and you pay the Hotel no deposit is taken.
Just check the terms and conditions when booking. The Hotels where free cancellation is offered is highlighted in green.

There's no rule against showing a bitch in season, just generally considered common courtesy not to, so I doubt any type of insurance would actually cover that.

They're not allowed to compete in agility, obedience etc

I'm setting off in the caravan today for 4 days of agility, with 2 bitches due to come into season, and they've got strict instructions to keep their legs crossed until at least Monday evening!!
