Hi, My girl is 16months old and has a bad habit of wetting on her bed and in a certain spot in the house/ she had this bad habit when i got her but i cant seem to stop her, i wash her bed everyday , mop the floor with strong cleaner but still she does the same. she goes out often for toilet breaks. Anyone any suggestions as she is a house dog i want to try get rid of this habit she has as i dont trust her not to go wee anywhere else so have to limit where she goes in the house.
Thankyou

It is very hard to get rid of the urine smell from dogs and the fact she goes back to the same spot indicates she can still smell it, I use biological washing liquid to clean up accidents, I was told to also use rubbing alcohol as that dissolves the fats in the urine that hold the smell but as I wasn't sure if it would damage carpets I never did.

You may have to go back to basics of house training and not leave her unsupervised where she can make a mess. Have you checked with the vet that she doesn't have an UTI or something wrong with her female bits? Has she had her first season?

It is also worth remembering some bitches will mark their territory.

Havent had uti checked although may be worth it just incase. She is very good whilst supervised but as soon as you leave her when she has open run of the house she does it. I have the last few days been doing crate training with her with the most common bed she pee's on and so far she hasnt once messed on it in her cage. so going to give this a try for a few more days, i must of washed the floor 20 times and i have ordered the 'Urine off' spray so hope to get it sorted with her. She has had her season and doesnt wee constant or show any show any sign of pain or i maybe would of suspected the uti.
Ill pop a wee sample into vets though as a precaution x

If the vet gives her the all clear, you need to go back to basics, and treat her as an 8 week old pup.  Take her outside, every hour, on the hour, and stay with her.

you could use a waterproof sheet from brollysheets uk on her bed for easier washing - its what i have done in the past
she can definitely smell the urine in that same spot, there are products such as sprays that you can get from the pet shop that eliminate the odour to put her off
also, maybe repeat the same word or phrase to encourage her to go in the relevant place, i use 'do your business' for my Piper
