what i would like to ask is if there are different sizes of yorkshire and if it is only the toy size the original breed? my dog is a medium size and i am curious as to know if and also why when people refer to yorkshires they mean "toy" as i have seen other yorkshires and they seem bigger than the toy? i would appreciate an answer to my question thanking you anrora

Strictly speaking there is only one size of Yorkshire Terrier - the breed standard states up to 3.1kgs (7 lbs). These are the dogs you see in the show ring. Outside the show ring there appears to be quite a range of weights as being a popular breed there are many people who are breeding not to the standard and you see a lot of oversized dogs. How much does your dog weigh? Hope this answers your question.
