Hallo. I need som help regarding herpes vaccination.I usually take my girls to the vet. for xray and second herpes shot around day 53 in pregnancy.
This time I could not get an appointment until day 56 due to easter.
Is that to late to give it?
Iam thinking of what if whelping starts the day after.  How many hours/days before the vaccin has reached full effect?

She could have it on day 51 ( right before easter)but that is perhaps a bit to early?

I have been told by my vet that the second Herpes Vaccine can be given from 14 days before the due date, my girl is due Good Friday and I will be having her second Herpes jab on Tuesday which will be 11 days before on my vets advice.
Perhaps check with your vet to see which date they believe is preferable.

My vet does within 7 days of projected due date. Of course that is the problem is we do not know the actual date. I looked into this recently and gather that the first vaccination lasts ups to 60 days. I have the first jab in week after mating.

Thank you both for your answers. I have decided to let her have the herpes vaccin the 28/3 on day 51 in pregnancy to be shure that the vaccin has reached  full effect. Xray is also going to be done the same day.
