Not sure if this is allowed but does anybody want two of these plus tank?!
Nolvety has worn off, need more cleaning as now bigger and son really doesn't want to be bothered. I feel sorry for them, they could do be with a bigger tank as have grown a lot but are under a year.
They're not furry and so I am not keen on them, and if they don't get cleaned they smell of yucky stagnent water and I am sick of telling him to do it (he's 23!)

I would suggest that you make your son find a good home for them - maybe contact a local reptile supplier or a forum such as this
Reptile Forum. It might teach him a valuable lesson in not getting pets unless he is going to look after them, particularly as he's an adult ! :) If he doesn't, I suggest that you rehome him :) :)
I have written a card out to go in tesco notice board. I can't believe him, he hates cruelty to animals so don't understand but I suspect it's because of changing the water so often and cleaning filters. They are better on dried fish but he's run put so they have had turtle pellet things that make the water horrible.
He's far more interested in his mobile phone! And girls And partying etc etc but this i shouldn't complain about as up until 18mths ago he was so shy and never really went anywhere, I was so worried.

Contact proteus rescue for advice they specialize inreptile rehoming

Ask admin to change the post title to warning about getting turtles as pets as the more people realise they at not a ideal pet the better. No criticism on that you have done but you are realising the consequences of getting them and also people are setting them free in ponds and steams as well.
Another designer pet :-(
Yes I know what you're saying but my son got them not me, I would have never have chosen such a thing!
It's illegal to put them in rivers etc, apparently. I ertainly won't let him do that. They need a much bigger tank but they are really expensive and you need good support because of the amount of water.
I'm just hoping my badgering will get him to find them a home.

Absolutely!

It's illegal to release any non-native species, including many plants, into the wild.
