Weather forecast rain for 4 days at crufts "well last time i looked" typical spend 2/3 weeks getting dogs ready only to have to walk through RAIN although i have raincoats for them, they have WHITE feathering!! and  i am in 1st two classes so will probably look like a drowned rat HAPPY DAYS!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Nothing harder than keeping a longcoated mainly white dog dry and clean! Quite apart from just arriving at Crufts, the morning of the show is a nightmare. Clean and bathed the night before, if you then have to let the dog out for a wee  before leaving all that can be undone.  :(

thats why with Beardies we have boots and coats... hate using them but its too time consuming trying to clean them up  or we put the crate on the trolley put dog in crate and put the crate cover on ..bags on top and wheel them in .... :( but best bet is to have a drop off ticket!!

Look on the bright side - at least everyone will be in the same boat ;-) . I'm sure the judges will understand that they are real dogs not china ornaments as my mother would say :-D

I wish. :) This being Crufts you really need a spotless dog.

Well I've seen a few in the ring at Crufts that wouldn't even pass my less than stringent 'clean' test :-D
I don't mean that the dogs would be filthy, simply that no one can help them getting wet on the way into the show.

No Jan, don't you go scrubbing all those spots off Daisy - she is meant to have them lol :-D :-D

Probably breed specific. :) Edited to say: there is no way on earth my Papillon will be putting his paws on the ground if it is wet!

Yeah bit harder to carry your Bernese in :-D Although we could carry Teasel if necessary

My Grandma used to show Old English Sheepdogs and after reading her this post she laughed and said she once was going to a show with my Grandad, arrived and my Grandad accidentally let the dog out of the car! At which point he shot off towards the canal at the back of the show ground, when they finally caught up with him he was shoulder deep in lovely muddy waters and refused to come out?! My grandfather had to wade in (in a suit?!) and lift the dog out of the canal! Needless to say they never made the show ;)
