One of my bitches has seasons every 4.5 to 5 months, her seasons usually last the normal amount of time, she has been mated once and produced a nice healthy litter, she was mated on day 11 and 13 last time. However this time round she seems to have had a very short season - she started on the 21st, was mated on the 31st (day 11), males in my house were very interested in her at this point, but by day 13 they were showing no interest at all and all bleeding stopped apart from a bit of spotting. Looked at her on Monday (day 15) and  her vulva has shrunk back quite a bit already, still a bit puffy obviously. Checked her this morning and it looks back to normal size, she is not bleeding at all, not evn spotting.
It just seems to be over very quickly - any thoughts??  Am anxious that it wasn't a normal season and that she won't have taken as it has ended so quickly?

My girls have gone over/off the boil by 4 days post first mating, they will be happy to flirt with the males and females up till that point then they will take the head off anyone that looks sideways at them, their vulvas will have decreased in size too

One of my girls has a long season, 31 days, always. She mated on days 26-31 the first time. She's just finished a season, she was to be mated but caught me unawares ... standing days 9-12 then it was over!! That's a first and she's 5 so had a number of seasons. I think it's easy to get into a routine of expecting what's gone before is the norm, but they do like to just shake us up a bit and change things about!! To me your girl's season sounds absolutely normal, even if over a couple of days early than her previous one. I wish my girl's had had such a short time difference, I might not have been caught out :-(

My other girl is in and over with it within 14 days, so much easier :-)
