I have a pregnant bitch who is registered in my name. She was bred by my mentor in this breed, as was the sire of the pups (owned by his breeder) -who is very wellknown within his breed and a big winner. We have agreed that this litter will be bred in my name rather than via loan of bitch to my mentor (we are sharing this litter) but as my mentor has bred both parents we should be able to use BOTH kennel names for the pups -hers and mine. I know it can be done, but HOW? What do I do when it comes to registering the pups, does anyone know? And do you put both names at front or one front and one back?

You would register the puppies in your name, using you affix only and then when your mentor takes her half of the litter she adds her affix...as she bred both parents her affix would go at the front, instead of how it usually goes, at the end. Hope that makes sense.

If you register them as Youraffix Dogname, then transfer them to her, she can then add her affix so that they become Heraffix Youraffix Dogname. But if the dog is then sold to someone else they can't add their affix on the end, you can only have 2 kennel names on a dog.
I don't think there's a quicker way of doing it.

Only if you transfer them all to her.

No because I have a joint ownership with my mum of an affix and have just bred a litter and would have liked to add my own affix too but couldn't.  Have kept one pup so I will be adding my own affix on soon.

No reason why you can't transfer them all into her name, add her affix and then transfer them to the new owners.

Of course the new owners might not be too happy if you've already added the extra affix so that they can't add their own.
