Hopefully someone can help with this problem. I have a 7 year old neuterd Ridgeback and he is developing numerous fatty lumps on his chest and sides. My vet has checked them out and has confirmed that they are benign and that there isn't much that can be done except for removal. I have heard that these lumps result from an enzyme deficiency. if this is true how do I correct this problem?
Any information you might be able to provide would be wonderful.

I really don't know what causes these. I undrstand they're quite common in labradors, and one of my dalmatians developed one small one, about the size of a small marble, on her shoulder about 4 years ago, which has remained exactly the same ever since.

It doesn't bother her, so it's not worth having it removed. But as to the cause - I'm in the dark. Sorry.
