I have 5 springers 2 bitches and 3 dogs, the dogs are absolutely adorable and very easy going but the girls are the complete opposite, They have started to bark at everything that moves past our gate and anybody that enters they jump up and tug at their clothing. It has not been a bite yet but I am afraid its the next thing. They are now 20 months and this has just started , before they were quite good. Can anyone explain why this has just come on after all this time. They have been spayed.

Hi,
Springers are quite a "hyperactive" breed, I would think it is possible that there might be some working lines behind your girls. The problem is that they are bored and need something to do, to occupy their minds, as well as regular physical exercise. Five is a lot of springers to cope with, and bitches do seem to have their own "agenda" in any breed.
I'd try taking them out separately to a good obedience class and finding things they can do at home which will occupy them and stop them getting into mischief, which is what this behaviour has started as, but is now rapidly becoming a bad habit. Another thought would be to get their basic obedience under control then try gundog classes. They are trying to lead your pack.
