A conversation I was involved with at work has led to me trying to help a friend resolve an issue re: endorsements on his bitch.
His issue is he has signed a contract at the time of purchase acknowledging the endorsements but was verbally told by the breeder that providing relevant health tests were done they would be happy to remove the endorsements.
My friend has decided he wants to breed in order to keep a puppy back for showing, he has now found that the breeder has sadly passed away and is under the impression that only the person who added the endorsement can lift them.
He is going to contact the KC but I wanted to ask here to see if anybody had similar experience.
sorry but verbally isnt going to help theres a post on here about this ,very interesting ,you HAVE to have it in writeing that endorsements will be lifted! after health testing for the kc to lift them if breeder dont....sorry which i could help more ....i rang many years ago about this the kc themselfs told me to ALLWAYS get it in writing incase of death :( x

I think there is a KC policy to cover this situation. The KC web site is the best place to look for a copy of the regs.

If what he signed at the time makes it clear that providing health testing is done the endorsements may be lifted then the kennel club could well lift them as it shows and intention to do so.
Has the ownership of the breeders dogs and affix passed onto a relative or friend who would support your friends position re lifting of endorsements.

Something similar happened to us once. The KC allowed the 'next of kin' to remove the endorsement >
