Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Anyone used Orijen or Acana to raise a litter?
- By suejaw Date 31.01.13 20:03 UTC
I'm just pricing this up at the moment and wondered if anyone has raised a litter on either of the above foods only.
If you have how have the compared to other litters raised on other dry foods? This is not to say that tripe and other raw bits will be added.
Was the price comparable?

Don't worry peeps I'm planning a litter any time soon, this is for the future and doing research and getting prices together to make sure I have funds in advance :-)

I've used the Orijen pup food for a litter. They took to it fine, no tummy upsets but I thought the poos really stank (if that's possible!)

Thank you, would you use it again or use something else for your next litter? Poo is poo to me, lol

I haven't decided yet but if their prices go up....

They've also just changed the composition of their dry food (see other thread running), so asking others how it has been in the past may not be true for the changed food.

I've used Orijen with my last litter and am currently weaning a litter on it, in conjunction with Natural Instinct raw. I was very happy with it, no upset tums. A previous litter (different breed) I raised on Burns and Naturediet and have to say I was much happier with the Orijen/NI feeding.

By coincidence I tore the NI ad out of the of paper recently as I wanted to look at their selection so thanks for the recomendation.
