Topic Dog Boards / Health / Ferret has lump?

My son's lil ferret kitty she's 5 years old- born in Oct. She has a lump in her belly- off to see the vet tomorrow around 6 pm.
Wondering if anyone has had experience with this?
We had one 5 yrs ago that had a lump but it was pretty huge- like it grew over night- was in operable and ended up pts.
Kitty's is pretty small so am hoping we caught what ever it is in time. If she needs surgery how well do ferrets do with this?

My vet regularly spays ferrets, and he doesn't seem to have problems with anaesthesia.

It was nothing- guess it was her kidney he was felling. Our vet showed him & had him feel her kidney & spleen ect. Then brought out a book
so he could see the skeletal structure & inside of the ferret and showed him where the parts were on her and had him feel it. Def put my son
at ease. She did tell him if he wanted an Ex ray we could but really no need but in the end she said its up to you.
Kitty weighs 2 1/2 pounds & Pooky 3 1/2 pounds. I love my vet and that she really takes the time to have you understand stuff- she carried
Kitty around like she was hers lol Very good with the animals :-)
